APRIL  2014



April 2014 was a warm, cloudy and very dry month.
The rainfall total of just 6.4 millimetres was 39 mm below the average, lowest for April since 2005 (2.4 mm). There were six very light falls with the highest daily total being 2.8 mm on the 28th.
Temperatures were warmer than normal, particularly in the first half of the month, but cooler conditons gradually prevailed in the last two weeks. There were no notable temperature extremes.

The first frosts of the year arrived from the 17th which produced a frost-free period of 130 days since the last frost on 7th December 2013.
Winds were mostly light westerlies.

There were no noteworthy events.
